HCM City girl crowned Miss Vietnam World 2010

Luu Thi Diem Huong was crowned Miss Vietnam World 2010 at Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang City in the central province of Khanh Hoa on August 21.

The title of first runner-up went to Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Khanh from Germany, who was crowned Miss Beach, and the second runner-up was Pham Thuy Vy Victoria from the US, who was Miss Sports.
Outclassing 40 outstanding contestants, the 20-year-old girl gave an excellent answer to a question about the Temple of Literature in Hanoi in the Q & A session to become the winner of the beauty pageant. She also won the title Miss Photogenic.
Huong weighs 50kg and has perfect measurements: 84-61-92 and is 1.71m tall. She is studying at the faculty of hotel management and tourism at Hoa Sen University in Ho Chi Minh City.

Huong will keep the crown worth VND1 billion and a prize worth VND500 million.
The judges also announced other titles including Miss Friendly to Nguyen Thanh Lan, Miss Popular to Nguyen Thu May, and Miss Elegance Nguyen Mai Anh.
According to the organizing board, the contest has raised more than VND4.5 billion for charitable activities.

Two more beauties enter top 15 Miss Vietnam World

Ninh Hoang Ngan and Pham Thi Thuy Linh were presented the Miss Fashion and Miss Ao Dai titles on August 16 in Vinpearland, Nha Trang city.

Thanks to these titles, the two contestants will be in the top 15 beauties in the final night, August 21.

Ngan, 20, is a student of HCM City’s Ton Duc Thang University. Linh, 21, is a student from HCM City’s Van Hien University. The two contestants will receive 30 million dong bonus.

Miss Fashion and Miss Ao Dai competition took place at Event Hall, Vinpearland, with nearly 1000 audience. Forty-two beauties appeared on the stage in evening gowns designed by Nguyen Quynh Nhu and ao dai designed by Lan Huong.

After the show, the judging panel chose the top five of Miss Fashion and top five of Miss Ao Dai. The top five of Miss Fashion included: Nguyen Mai Anh, Bui Thi Thu Huong, Ninh Hoang Ngan, Nguyen Thi Thuong and Ho Thi Oanh Yen. The top five of Miss Ao Dai comprised: Ha Thi Hoang Anh, Nguyen Thu May, Pham Thi Thuy Linh, Nguyen Phuong Mai and Nguyen Thi Thanh Van.


In the second round, the top five of Miss Fashion performed in the latest collection named Vietnam Lotus by designer Nguyen Quynh Nhu and the top five of Miss Ao Dai appeared in a collection by Lan Huong.

The winners are two beauties from HCM City.

The last sub-competition, Miss Sea, will take place today, August 17.

Also today, Miss Earth 2009 Larrisa Ramoz will arrive in Vinpearl Land to attend the final night as a jury member.

Thanh Huyen enters top 15 Miss Vietnam World

 Nguyen Thanh Huyen, 18, from Russia, won the title Miss Talent at the Miss Vietnam Global 2010 contest at Vinpearland resort in Nha Trang city on August 14.

She performed a three-minute freestyle dance entitled, “The Mysterious Orient.” Huyen will enter the final round on August 21.


She is the second contestant chosen for the top 15. The first is Pham Thuy Vy Victoria, who won the Miss Sports title on August 12.

Only 21 of 42 contestants participated in the Miss Talent contest. Eight performed dances, five sang, and the remaining contestants performed martial arts, aerobics, cooked, or made presentations.

The judging panel selected five contestants for the final round, including Thanh Huyen with “The Mysterious Orient” dance, Nguyen Thu May presenting a poem written by herself, Bui Thi Thu Huong with “Love Song for Noong”, Lam Huyen My with “Alone Bird” dance, and Nguyen Yen Linh with a belly dance.


Today, August 16, contestants will take part in the third competition, Miss Fashion.
